2 offers

We currently have 2 offers out on 2 very different properties. The first one is 1X6 Lefferts and the other is a 4 storey building in Bedford-Stuyvesent. We saw it this weekend (1X9 Putnam)

The block the 4 storey is on isn't the nicest but the subway is quite close and there's a YMCA close by too. It's cheap enough that we can make it into a double duplex (2 floors per couple) which sounds nice but the lot is smaller. I also fear for the safety of my car.

But the neighbourhood will appreciate and with the construction of the Atlantic Yards, it will push a lot of gentrification through (we hope anyway). That gives it a strong upside and with an affordable mortgage (not much more than our rent right now) I am inclined to give it a shot.

Mike and I will probably end up with the bottom 2 floors which isn't great for the light throughout the house but does have a kitchen that opens up into the yard and a possible deck upstairs. There are possibilities. We all agree that the top 2 floors are nicer and the couple that takes it will probably pay $100 more for the mortgage (nicer light, better layout BUT low ceilings on the highest floor)

I kinda half hope she doesn't accept...
